LEGAL ASPECTS

Marriage in the Czech Republic is being fully recognized and accepted by all the nationalities and authorities around the world. For international civil ceremonies which are being performed in Czech, an official interpreter is required. The majority of Church ceremonies are performed in English so an official interpreter is not needed. After the ceremony you will be provided with a valid marriage certificate including official stamps and seals and an officially certified translation into your own language so that your own country authorities can accept the certificate without any further need for confirmation, so that your new proofs of identification (e.g. passports and ID) can be issued. The marriage certificate and translation will be sent to your preferred address by DHL or FedEx about 2 or 3 weeks after the wedding.

All of the required documents for the wedding need to be received by The Dreams at least 4 weeks prior to the planned ceremony. Your Wedding Coordinator will then coordinate / collect / complete (where applicable on your behalf) the marriage documents. About 1 week prior to the wedding day final checks / amendments will be made.

Express arrangements of weddings, processing of formalities and translations can be made available, subject to availabilities and legal restrictions. For more information please contact us.

GENERAL LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MOST OF THE NATIONALITIES:

For some nationalities some of the required documents may only be issued in the Czech Republic (e.g. at the Embassy or foreign mission) which in majority of cases can be taken care of by your Wedding Coordinator.

It is necessary for the groom and bride to arrive in The Czech Republic 3 days prior to their wedding day so that final touches / amendments can be made and so that any local authorities can be visited together with your Wedding Coordinator in order to finish off the required paperwork.
